Ruchama King Feuerman, author of In the Courtyard of the Kabbalist, the 2014 Portland Jewish Book Month’s “One Book” selection, will be the speaker at Congregation Beth Israel on Sunday, November 23, beginning at 10:00 am in the Pollin Chapel (Schnitzer Family Center).

The characters in the book - all so different from each other - are striving to become stronger, more spiritual, and able to live in Israel, a society so divided. Themes include spirituality, connection, the Temple Mount, Palestinians, human kindness, and finding peace.

The event is co-sponsored by the Adult Education Committee of Beth Israel and the Jewish Federation of Portland. The public is welcome to this free event.
