You're invited to a Forum on Affordable Housing and Homelessness in Portland (7 pm on Thursday, November 14 at Havurah Shalom and on Zoom). RSVP
From Havurah Shalom's Poverty and Homelessness Committee: Homelessness and the lack of affordable housing remain critically important issues in the Portland metro area. Moreover, in recent years, we’ve seen unprecedented local funding go toward addressing these issues, along with an array of potential solutions. However, our elected leaders have shown little unity when it comes to solving these problems.
This forum will present an opportunity to hear perspectives and engage in discussion with Havurah members Rachael Duke (Community Partners for Affordable Housing) and Andrea Sanchez (Housing Development Center). Steve Rudman (former director of Home Forward) will convene the forum. These three Havurahniks have combined experience of over 80 years in the field. We look forward to a lively and informative evening.
