With heavy hearts, Congregation Neveh Shalom shares the sad news that following a long battle with Cancer, Elisa Stevens, z"l has passed away Wednesday, Apr. 23, 2025. Elisa faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, ultimately passing on her own terms.
Elisa's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with creativity, connection, and joy. A devoted wife to Joshua and a cherished mother to Chloe and Jonah, her love formed the cornerstone of their family. She is also deeply missed by her sister Shelley (Michael Lack), brothers Brian (Debbie) and Mark (Linda), and her husband's brother Aaron (Jennifer Stevens).
Her warmth extended to her many nieces and nephews – Andrew and Elana, Jordan and Laurel, Charles, Arin and Josh, Maxine, Hannah, Caleb, Ellie and Jacob – and great-nieces and nephews – Rae, Reese, Joey and Leo – who will forever remember her playful spirit and loving presence. Elisa was the beloved daughter of Anne and Harvey Taub, z”l, and a respected daughter-in-law of Sharyn and Dennis Spitzer, z”l and Michael and Judy Stevens.
Elisa embraced life with enthusiasm. Her hands were rarely still, finding joy in the intricate details of arts and crafts. She possessed a gift for bringing order and fun to gatherings, whether organizing lively Mah Jongg games or sharing her passion for Broadway shows and movies. Travel broadened her horizons and created cherished memories, but it was time spent with family that truly filled her heart.
Elisa's love leaves an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and the unwavering love she shared.
A funeral service and burial were held Friday, Apr. 25, at Neveh Zedek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Elisa's name to Camp Kesem, an organization close to her heart, at kesem.org. Please select “Camp Kesem at University of Oregon” from the menu.
