Congregation Beth Israel mourns the loss of Jeffrey B. Whalen, z”l, who died at age 68 after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer. The family moved to Beaverton  in 2001 and Jeff spent 21 years in the Nike legal department. Jeff served on the boards and leadership of the Beaverton Education Foundation and the Oregon ARC. A third generation Red Sox fan, Jeff was also an avid backpacker, a cyclist, and an intrepid skier. Jeff is survived by his wife of 42 years, former WRJ/Beth Israel Sisterhood President Stephanie Siegel, children Sam, Jessi, Aliza & Daniel, and three grandchildren.

Jeff may be honored by a donation to the Beaverton Education Foundation or to the Oregon ARC.
