The PJ Library (PJ for Pajamas) is a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation in partnership with local Jewish communities. In Portland it is implemented and housed by the Mittleman Jewish Community Center with support from the Jewish Federation. Its goal is to support the Jewish journeys of families raising young children through access to high-quality Jewish children's books and music, along with parenting resources. JFGP, its local PJ Library partners and HGF share a commitment to creating innovative opportunities for Jewish family engagement, especially for those who are less affiliated and/or in interfaith homes.
Who Are PJ Families?
PJ families come from many backgrounds: some adults are intermarried; some have little or no formal Jewish learning; all have at least one Jewish family member.
