What brings you to town? Work, family, or just a sense of adventure? Portland and the surrounding areas have a lot to offer residents of all ages, life stages and interests. The Greater Portland Jewish community is no exception and supports a breadth and depth of offerings.
57,000+ Jews call Portland home and live all over the city and surrounding areas. We have synagogues, schools, camps, adult learning, cultural arts, an array of volunteer opportunities, social service supports and more. We live alone, with non-Jewish partners, in blended families, with and without children, in multi-generational households and every other family configuration.
Exploring online is a great way to give yourself an introduction to our community. We would also love the opportunity to connect with you—virtually, on the phone or (again soon, we hope) in person so please be in touch with your questions and your ideas.
We want you to feel at home in your community. As a transplant myself, I must tell you that Portland is THE friendliest place I have ever lived and very easy to feel at home in. Feel free to call anytime and let us know how you are doing!
