Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and ensuring the accurate processing of transactions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of supporting and strengthening our community through philanthropy.

Responsibilities

• Handling all accounting functions and record keeping, including administrative duties related to normal accounting processes.

• Tracking and recording operating expenses.

• Reconciliation of deposit accounts and investment accounts.

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

• Assist with the administration of grants and scholarships, including data entry, tracking payments, and reporting requirements.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.

• Preparing and distributing fund statements to fundholders.

• Provide support during the annual audit.

• Maintain complete and organized financial records, including invoices, receipts, and other documentation.

• Assist with special projects and initiatives as needed to support the overall goals of the Foundation.

• Scheduling Investment, Finance, and Distribution Committee meetings and communicating with committee members about administrative matters.

• Tracking hours worked.

Experience & Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess exceptional communication and organizational skills and recent experience in accounting or finance within a professional environment. A background in Non-Profit organizations is a plus. This required experience includes basic accounting skills, a range of technical skills including proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and the ability to work within and understand the structure of a customized relational database.

It is important for the candidate to feel excitement about and a commitment to the mission of OJCF. Knowledge of Jewish practices, experience, or engagement in Jewish community is desirable. The candidate will be a lifelong learner who is motivated to acquire new skills and knowledge.

The individual will possess a high comfort level working on a small team and in a fast-paced environment with confidential information and will be dedicated to contributing to a positive work environment for colleagues and foundation constituents. The candidate will accept responsibilities for multiple tasks and projects while working with minimal supervision, managing time effectively, and prioritizing the completion of tasks.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time hybrid position and will pay $22.00 - $25.00 per hour for 40 hours per week. This position will require working in-office three days a week and remotely two days per week.
