Tomorrow is our nation’s Thanksgiving holiday. Yes, we all learned in grade school about the Native Americans and Pilgrims sharing a meal together in 1621, yet the holiday means so much more.
There is always so much going on in our community that I often try to balance my weekly remarks with my own introspective thoughts and major community happenings.
I just returned Wednesday from Denver where I, along with seven others from Portland, attended the annual Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) General Assembly (often referred to as the G.A.).
There are issues that the Jewish Federation as well as our Community Relations Committee (CRC) deal with that are often best managed “behind closed doors.”
