Wednesday night and yesterday, Jewish communities around the world commemorated Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, honoring the memories of the six million Jews who perished at the hands of the Nazis and their sympathizers.
I remember almost 19 years ago attending my first General Assembly (often referred to as the GA – the annual conference of Jewish Federations) in Montreal, Quebec.
